My name is Alex Abalos.
I'm a Bay Area native that now resides in San Francisco, CA. I've been making all kinds of weird noises with electronics since 02. The biggest influence on my sound has always been the notion of how 'can i make the biggest sound out the most tiniest of instruments?'. All the searching led me to a culture called circuit bending. More and more as i dug through the history and aesthetics of Circuit Bending i found it was a very diy community. That instead of just going to something like guitar center or buying into the latest fad of synths, you built your own machine or took your old casio and reworked it till it was your own little Frankenstein. My point being is that its a cool thing to know if u want to take your music to a personal level.
This is me being me:

To connect this all together I want to pass on what I've found.
This summer on Saturday July 3rd, 2010 I will be having a build and circuit bend an atari punk console day. It will start @ 1p and go till 6pm and it will be @ a location in the bay area.
Here's the thing. The place is a tiny home and to get all this action going (getting kits/solder guns/parts) theres going to be a small fee attached.
I'm asking for $100 even. no tax's or any b.s attached. You may ask yourself "$100!!!!, this fool be trippin!!!" but think about it...
With the 100 i'll include a soldering gun (the one in the pic above) as well as aquire all the pieces to the atari punk console (as shown above as well). Also you get me and my hands on knowledge of how to bend the console. This is a basic console anyone could build. Its fun, its easy, its a good way to take your first step into circuits and circuit bending. The only thing i don't include is the encasement.
Thats where the fun is included. Bring any encasement and we'll drill the holes @ my place to your specifications.
Soooooo, you walk away with a someone that got all the parts for u/soldering gun/music tone generator/help/a cool circle of people you can keep in contact with/and know how on how to pass it on. And honestly that's what i hope to gain more so than money on this. I know their are circuit bending communities out there, but how cool would it be to start our own amongst friends.
anyway here is a vid I did with mine:
its a looper and the bends i put within the console... i also wore some cool sandals.
you can look up/google more info on the console as well. Hell you could even just go off and build one with the info you could find....
But if you are down to meet and want to meet up with fellow like minded heads, Feel free to email me at puzzlebender(@)gmail(dot)com. From that point on i can give u info on where it is and we can create some dialogue with each other.
As for payments we can work something out via paypal or some other way of cash fund transfers via something safe. If anything I'll probably have my papal link on this blog soon. The Cut off for all inquires will June 19th 2010.
AND FINALLY: THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME TAKE YOUR TIME
